Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide full operational leadership of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and cost efficiencies are achieved.
• Oversee plant maintenance strategies to ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability.
• Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including legal appointments.
• Act as a legally appointed Section 16.2 in terms of OHS legislation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned to lean manufacturing and operational best practice.
• Manage operational budgets, capital expenditure, and resource allocation.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance and promote a strong safety culture throughout the operation.
• Collaborate with executive management to align operational strategy with overall business objectives.
• Oversee risk management, audits, and statutory inspections.

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng Mechanical Engineering or BSc Mechanical Engineering (non-negotiable).
• GCC (Factories) essential OR proven experience appointed as a Section 16.2 in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 810 years experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• At least 5 years in a senior operations or plant leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of plant engineering, asset management, and production planning.
• Proven track record of managing large teams and driving operational performance.
• Sound understanding of statutory compliance, risk management, and engineering governance.
