JOB CONTEXT:
Were on the hunt for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer who knows their way around API 610 centrifugal pumps and API 682 mechanical seals. If you enjoy bringing critical equipment back to lifeinspecting, refurbishing, repairing, and boosting performanceyoull feel right at home. In this role, youll take pump refurbishment projects from first teardown to final sign-off, making sure everything meets API standards, customer expectations, and top-tier quality.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect, evaluate, and diagnose API 610 pumps and API 682 sealing systems during refurbishment and repair activities.
• Develop refurbishment scopes, repair methodologies, and technical reports based on inspection findings.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, datasheets, and API standards.
• Provide technical support for pump disassembly, inspection, machining, assembly, and testing.
• Ensure refurbishment activities comply with API 610, API 682, ISO, and customer specifications.
• Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with workshops, machining teams, vendors, and quality departments.
• Support seal selection, upgrades, and system improvements for reliability enhancement.
• Review test results (hydro, performance, mechanical run tests) and approve final documentation.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to pump reliability and refurbishment processes.
• Interface with customers for technical clarifications, inspections, and project updates.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 510 years of experience working with API 610 pumps and API 682 mechanical seals.
• Strong hands-on experience in pump refurbishment, overhaul, and repair.
• In-depth knowledge of centrifugal pump design, materials, tolerances, and sealing systems.
• Familiarity with machining processes, metallurgy, and surface treatments.
• Experience with failure analysis and reliability improvement techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with CAD software is an advantage.
• API certifications or formal API training.
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or process industries.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
