Mechanical Engineer - Centurion

This role is ideal for a senior mechanical engineer with a minimum of 7 years'' experience in research and development. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full design and prototyping lifecycle, collaborating with international clients and partners, primarily based in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full R&D lifecycle for optronics and stabiliser systems, from conceptual design through to prototyping.
• Engage directly with Middle Eastern clients to capture technical requirements and deliver tailored engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary and international teams to ensure projects are delivered to specification and on schedule.
• Apply deep technical knowledge to solve complex challenges in the optronics and stabilisation domain.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers.
• Ensure designs adhere to relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Occasionally travel to the Middle East for client engagements or project assessments (minimal travel required).

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• At least 7 years experience specifically with optronic systems and mechanical/ electronic stabilisers.
• Demonstrated experience in design, development, and prototyping of high-precision systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with international stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead projects, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience working with clients or partners in the Middle East.
• Knowledge of Arabic or familiarity with Middle Eastern business culture is advantageous.
• Prior involvement in the development of stabiliser or targeting systems for defence, surveillance, or aerospace applications.
