Junior Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production by assisting with process optimization, troubleshooting, and ensuring efficient machine operation.
• Collect and analyse production data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Support engineering projects, including the implementation of new systems, tools, or process improvements
• Monitor production processes to maintain product quality, reduce scrap, and ensure equipment reliability.
• Manage technical resources and inventory by monitoring supplies and coordinating the purchase of equipment or materials.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality standards, GMP practices, and food safety systems.

Key Requirements

• Grade 12 with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 25 years relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, raw materials, moulds, and downstream production equipment.
• Experience with extrusion blow moulding and mechanical fitting/turning is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and technical analysis skills.
• Good communication, project coordination, administrative, and software proficiency skills.
