Cost Engineer

A specialist engineering company, operating in a steel fabrication and heavy industry environment, is looking for a skilled Costing Engineer to support the accurate pricing of custom-built solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who understands materials, fabrication processes, and the true cost of engineered solutions not just spreadsheets.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a costing / estimating role within steel fabrication or manufacturing
• Strong understanding of steel properties, density, and material calculations
• Experience working with custom-built or engineered solutions
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for fabricated and engineered products
• Analyse drawings, material requirements, and manufacturing processes
• Calculate material usage, labour, and production costs
• Work closely with engineering, production, and sales teams
• Support pricing strategies and tender submissions
• Ensure that costings align with profitability and project requirements
• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar will be advantageous.
