A specialized logistics company based in Heidelberg, Gauteng, is seeking a meticulous Mechanical Draughtsman to join their team. This permanent role focuses on producing high-quality technical drawings for temperature-controlled solutions and pump systems.

Position Details

Location: Gauteng

Position Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am 5pm

Dress Code: Smart Casual

Salary: Market related; based on technical experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Produce technical drawings, general arrangements, and structural baseplate designs based on customer specifications.

Conduct basic design calculations for pump sets, base plates, and auxiliaries.

Perform detailed component design, including material properties, clearances, machining, and tolerances.

Redraw and create 3D models and assemblies from 2D drawings.

Maintain meticulous drawing office systems, archiving, and document distribution.

Update existing drawings for new revisions and assist with parts lists and monthly reports.

Liaise with Sales, Projects, and Workshop departments to ensure project success.

Experience Required

Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.

Extensive experience in pump manufacturing or maintenance.

Practical exposure to mechanical, structural, plant, and pump station projects.

Strong understanding of machining and geometric tolerances.

Skills Required

Proficiency in CAD, AutoCAD, and Inventor 3D (or similar packages).

Strong computer literacy, including MS Office, MS Excel, and MS Project.

General understanding of engineering specifications, codes, and draughting principles.

Proven ability to establish and maintain effective filing and archiving systems.

Qualifications Required

Matric.

National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a Draughtsman Diploma/Certificate.

Candidate Profile & Additional Requirements

Must have own transportation and a valid drivers license.

Proven ability to manage and communicate effectively within a team.

Highly organized with a focus on meticulous record-keeping.
