The Role: Junior Shipping Controller

The Junior Shipping Controller exists to serve as a vital link between production, sales, and global clients. The role focuses on negotiating courier rates, managing loading schedules, and overseeing inventory across international warehouses to ensure efficient logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize 2 or more years of dedicated shipping experience to manage logistics operations.
• Determine picking lists based on demand and oversee the loading of containers and container seals.
• Manage stock volumes, movements, reservations, and replenishment in international warehouses.
• Book trucks for intercompany transfers and source new transport companies while negotiating competitive rates.
• Handle reworks documentation and prepare necessary import files while capturing pallets in Syspro.
• Prepare commercial invoices and handle SAISI concessions while coordinating ETAs and customs delays with clients.
• Liaise with the Warehouse Controller and monitor allocated forklift drivers.

About You

• 2+ years of dedicated shipping experience.
• BCom or Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistics.
• Proficiency in Syspro and Excel for inventory reporting and stock booking.
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong negotiation skills for transporter rates.
• Ability to manage complex documentation for export agents.
