Engineering Stores Assistant
Reason for Reporting
A Stores Assistant is an internal customer service position within the Engineering department. The Stores Assistant will ensure all internal requests are issued timeously. The Stores Assistant will off load all incoming material and store items in a designated area safely and correctly. His/ her tasks will include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure all daily store tasks are completed on time
- Assist with processing daily stock orders
- Assist with conducting inventory stock take when required
- Do inventory cycle counts
- Off-loading of all incoming material
- Offloading of stock deliveries by suppliers
- Checking of deliveries against delivery notes
- Receiving of deliveries
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock quantities
- Issue cylinder gas when required
- Issue requested inventory to various departments
- Take morning stock level of various stock items
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations
- General Housekeeping
- Any other stores related duties as requested
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
- Grade 12 preferably with Mathematics
- Experience in a Stores environment
- Ability to work under pressure without supervision
- Be prepared to work after-hours, including weekends
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans, Xhosa would be an added advantage
- High administration skills
- Forklift licence is an advantage
- Dedicated team player

- Organizational skills

Standard hours
07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday
07h30–16h00: Friday
