- Grade 10 or equivalent (Matric preferred).
- Valid Excavator Operator Certificate (accredited training provider).
- Valid driver's license (Code 10 or higher is an advantage).
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating an excavator on a construction site.
- Knowledge of construction and safety procedures.
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators (tracked or wheeled) to perform earthworks and material handling.
- Conduct daily inspection and routine maintenance of the machine (e.g., oil levels, tire/track condition).
- Follow site instructions and project specifications.
- Load and unload materials and move earth, rocks, and other materials as required.
- Ensure proper levelling, trenching, and grading using the machine.
- Monitor machine performance and report defects or necessary repairs.
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Cooperate with other workers and site supervisors.
