About the Opportunity

A leading multinational organisation within the FMCG sector is looking for a commercially minded Financial Analyst to join its Finance team on a 6-month contract.
This is a hands-on commercial finance role working closely with Sales and Marketing, with a strong focus on sales performance, trade spend, pricing, profitability and financial analysis.
We are looking for someone who understands the numbers but, more importantly, can translate them into meaningful commercial insights that help the business make better decisions.
This opportunity would suit a Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance Analyst, Revenue Analyst or Management Accountant who has gained solid exposure within an FMCG or Retail environment and is ready to take on broader commercial responsibility.

What Youll Be Doing

You will partner closely with Sales Managers, Marketing and Finance to support commercial performance across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Analysing Net Sales, Gross-to-Net (GTN), profitability and customer performance.
• Preparing monthly financial results and providing clear commentary and insights on business performance.
• Supporting the month-end close and ensuring reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
• Performing detailed P&L and customer profitability analysis.
• Evaluating promotions and commercial initiatives through ROI analysis.
• Monitoring and analysing trade spend and ensuring spend remains within approved guidelines.
• Supporting Sales and Marketing with financial analysis and ad-hoc commercial requests.
• Reviewing promotional activity and ensuring promotional guidelines are followed.
• Supporting the monthly S&OP process from a finance perspective.
• Monitoring pricing changes and ensuring ad-hoc commercial spend is correctly authorised.
• Performing monthly and quarterly trade spend reconciliations.
• Monitoring open customer deductions and working with the relevant teams to resolve outstanding items.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and making recommendations to the business.
• Supporting financial controls, audit requirements and compliance with trade spend policies.
• Building strong relationships across Finance, Sales, Marketing and other business functions.
