Data Scientist

In this role, youll design and deploy machine learning, statistical, and AI-driven solutions, working across the full data lifecycle from data exploration and modelling to deployment and insight delivery. Youll play a key role in shaping innovative analytics initiatives, contributing to new projects, and building future-focused capabilities using modern platforms such as AWS and SAS Viya. This role suits someone who blends strong technical capability with commercial awareness and a passion for real-world problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end data workflows: extraction, cleansing, preparation, analysis, and modelling
• Design and deliver impactful dashboards and visualisations to communicate insights
• Build, test, and deploy statistical and machine learning models using SAS, Python, and SQL
• Develop innovative AI-driven solutions for complex business challenges
• Translate ambiguous business problems into clear, structured analytical approaches
• Work within AWS and SAS Viya environments for scalable development and deployment
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand needs before designing solutions
• Present insights, recommendations, and model outputs in a clear, business-focused manner

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education:
  
  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related discipline
  • Strong theoretical foundation in statistical modelling
  Experience:
  
  • Strong experience in data preparation, wrangling, and exploratory data analysis
  • Hands-on experience using SAS, Python, and SQL in production environments
  • Proven experience building machine learning and/or statistical models
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. SAS Visual Analytics or similar platforms)
