Assistant Financial Manager

We are partnering with a well-established organisation seeking an Assistant Financial Manager to strengthen their finance team. This role suits a technically strong professional with 35 years experience, strong people management skills, and hands-on involvement in daily financial operations.

You will oversee core financial processes, manage a sizeable finance team, and ensure accurate reporting, up to trial balance level, within a stable, fast-paced business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full GL processing up to trial balance
• Oversee month-end and audit processes
• Manage debtors and creditors processing
• Prepare and review management accounts
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls
• Lead and manage a finance team of 810 direct reports
• Support operational and management decision-making through accurate financial reporting

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom degree essential
• SAICA / SAIPA / CIMA qualification preferred
• 35 years relevant accounting experience
• Manufacturing or Retail industry experience advantageous
• Strong understanding of full accounting processes (GL to TB)
• Proven people management and leadership experience
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a pressured environment
