BOILERMAKER:
* Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layouts and procedures.
* Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
* Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws, gas cutting equipment to match measurements).
* Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
* Align components using calipers, rules etc. and clamp pieces.
* Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
* Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
* Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
* Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
* Relationships: Factory Management, Safety and Quality Coordinator, Maintenance personnel and operators
MILLWRIGHT
* Maintenance of machinery and plant as a whole and specific designated individual responsible area to ensure continued mechanical operation.
* To report to the Maintenance Manager any problems or faults and breakdowns occurring within the plant.
* To plan and discuss preventative maintenance with the Maintenance Manager.
* To comply with the standby schedule, safety requirements as prescribed by Company and any requirements of the OHS Act that are indicated as your responsibilities by the Maintenance Manager.
* Has the authority to stop any machine or practice that is unsafe, or not producing quality products – in consultation with either the supervisor, maintenance manager or factory manager.
