Maintenance Technician (Millwright) – East Rand

Our client is a leading mining technology and equipment company.Job DescriptionYou will be the custodian of planned maintenance and be responsible for the repair, maintenance and optimization of plant and equipment.Lead the problem-solving teams for chronic breakdowns and support planned maintenance, TPM philosophies and inspections.Establish engineering standards and train plant operators on correct methods of operating equipment, coordinate improvement projects and engage with preferred suppliers.Conduct planned maintenance of plant, equipment and facilitiesAttend to unplanned maintenance of plant and equipmentCoordinate and oversee all work done by contractorsCoordinate and facilitate all CAPEX and optimization projectsPromote a safe work environment for allCritical spare stockAssist with administration dutiesAssist with the review of the relevant documentationManage and initiate maintenance programsEnsure the equipment and plant is maintained and serviced correctly and efficientlyExercise control over inventory and manage spare parts procurementEnsure the workshop, personnel and contractors are managed efficientlyEnsure the workshop is a clean and healthy environment at all times and all duties are carried out with strict regard to company HSSE policies and proceduresAssist with stock control and general housekeepingSpecial projectsQHSE ResponsibilitiesQualificationsQualified as a MillwrightMust have a Senior Certificate of EquivalentDiploma and proof of Apprenticeship is a must haveSkills5 years minimum industry related experienceMechanical and Electrical Engineering backgroundPump and pipework installation experience essentialMaintenance experience in valves, gears, meters and instruments essentialAbility to read and comprehend manuals and schematicsSalary / PackageNegotiable (depending on experience)
