Plant Maintenance Technician

* Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment * Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, repairs, inspections (assessing the functionality of production * Perform and complete maintenance work order requests * Give detailed feedback of work orders, spare parts consumed, and time spent on specific work orders in SAP-EAM daily * Performs Daily Plant Critical Checks and records results in Inspection Lots in SAP-EAM * Fabricate items required during maintenance or set-up of equipment * Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures * Attend to breakdowns in such a manner that there is minimum lost time * Respond to after hour call-out when required * Control of spare parts used * Maintain a clean and orderly work environment (Production plant, equipment and workshop). * Provides support for a variety of projects by assisting with site preparation, on-site clean up, and evaluation   * Trade test certificate: Millwright * At least 18 months Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering qualification or PLC; SCADA & Batch Management Software’s certification training program * Project management training certificates * 5 years’ experience as a Millwright/Technician maintenance or project environment (preferably in the manufacturing Chemical Industry) * Computer literacy with working knowledge on Microsoft packages and SAP is essential * Good verbal communication skills and basic report writing skills are essential * Strong organizational skills and efficient time management skills are essential * A sense of urgency (does things quickly and methodically), self-driven and resilient, work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment * In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance * In-depth knowledge in instrumentation and able to do calibrations and verifications * Ability to interpret PLC software and fault find in PLC software * Ability to interpret SCADA & Batch Management software and use as a fault-finding tool * Ability to diagnose, determine cause and effect, and repair equipment malfunctions * An analytical approach to problem solving and ability to pay high attention to detail as well as handle complexity (multiple challenges simultaneously) * Shows an open attitude towards change and is willing to adapt to changing priorities, process conditions, and circumstances * Ability to read and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications * Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the company.
