Proposals Engineer

My client, based in Belville, Cape Town, is seeking a seasoned Proposals Engineer. The main purpose of the job is to sell the Company's products and services through the processing of customer enquiries, preparation of tender documents, presentation to the customer and the handing-over to the Service Department of orders secured. To compile man-hours, liaise with staff to acquired required information and compile estimate sheets. QUALIFICATIONS * Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science * ND Electrical Engineering * EXPERIENCE * 5 years' industrial experience compiling tenders, man hours, equipment and estimate sheets * Mechanical background essential with Estimations and Proposals * Knowledge and experience of boiler house risk assessments * Estimating experience * A proven track record of preparing tenders and securing orders * Ability to prepare proposals and technical documents * Knowledge and experience with international commercial conditions (FIDIC, NEC3, etc) will be an advantage * Strong negotiation skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Computer Literacy. * Syspro knowledge would be advantageous. * KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Tender preparation and submission * Follow up with customers on status of tenders submitted and report back at monthly meetings * Prepare and issue Confirmation of Order / contract documents, including estimate sheet and financial statement * Undertake boiler inspections and site visits * Compile and maintain a data base of estimating norms *Desired Skills: * * Proposals * Estimation * Electrical Engineering * Tenders * Mechanical * FIDIC * NEC3 * Contracts
