A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO REVERSE OSMOSISReverse Osmosis is a very fine filtration process, which occurs at a molecular level. This process, which allows only a given size of the molecule to pass and rejects the rest. In effect, the pores or holes in the membrane are so small that most of the harmful minerals and chemicals cannot pass, while water molecules pass through.Rejected water carrying the minerals in a high concentration is drained off through the wastewater pipe. As a result the pure water is diverted to the storage tank for drinking. The System removes up to 95% of harmful minerals and chemicals. Also the system removes suspended impurities such as dirt, sand, and rust. As a matter of fact it improves the odor and taste of your municipal water. Leaving good, clean, and healthy water for your consumption.HOW THE DOMESTIC REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM WORKS
The incoming water passes through 3 types of filters before it reached your Reverse Osmosis Membrane. The first filter is the Polypropylene Filter, this filter removes the large suspended particles, such as dirt, sand, and rust. The second filter is a GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) Filter, this filter improves the taste and odor of your water as well as reducing the amount of chlorine, radon, heavy metals, and hydrogen sulfide as well as reducing finer particles of sediment in your water, by absorbing these elements from the water. The third filter is a CTO Carbon Block Filter, this filter consists of activated carbon particles fused into a uniform block with enhanced adsorptive capacity and efficiency. This means it further reduces the amount of chlorine, radon, heavy metals, and hydrogen sulfide as well as reducing finer particles of sediment in your water.Water then passes to the Reverse Osmosis Membrane where very fine particles are extruded from the water and dispensed through the waste water pipe. The filtered water then passes through one last T33 (In-Line Carbon) Filter, to further reduce by absorption any remaining amounts of chlorine, radon, heavy metals, and hydrogen sulfide, that may have been missed by the Reverse Osmosis Membrane as well as reducing finer particles of sediment in your water.Water then flows to your Storage Tank, when you dispense water, it flows through your Mineral Ball Filter which replenishes your water with a variety of beneficial minerals, that improve the taste of and quality of your water.

Filtered water removes contaminants and sediments using physical barriers or chemical processes. Reverse Osmosis removes impurities by exposing water under pressure to a semipermeable membrane. This will help you in identifying that there is a big difference between filtered water and purified water.
A conventional filtration system, will give you nice tasting water, but it will not remove most of the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) for example: SODIUM, MANGANESE, CALCIUM CARBONATE, to name a few, that are present in all municipal tap waters systems.A lot of different forms of bacteria and viruses are so small that filters can’t remove them from the water supply. However an RO membrane can remove these along with many other impurities in your water.
Domestic Counter top Double Stage Filter2 Stage under counter purifier are in the 1-micron range. The element comprises of hollow fibers of membrane material.Domestic Ultra Filtration Purifiers are a type of membrane filtration in which hydro static pressure. Forces a liquid against a semipermeable membrane. It does not differ fundamentally from reverse osmosis, micro filtration or nano filtration. Except in terms of the size of the molecules it retains.UF can be used as pretreatment for reverse osmosis systems or as a final filtration stage for deionized water. It is an excellent purification method in areas where the TDS is low or in drought-stricken areas, as it produces no waste.

Firstly calcite media is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media. One of the advantages of Calcite water treatment is its self-limiting property. When properly applied, it corrects pH only enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium. However it does not over correct under normal conditions.Up until contact with Calcite media, acidic waters slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate to raise the pH which reduces the potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. Periodic back washing will prevent packing, reclassify the bed and maintain high service rates.Depending on pH, water chemistry and service flow, the Calcite bed will have to be periodically replenished as the Calcite media is depleted. As the Calcite’s calcium carbonate neutralizes the water. Hence this will increase hardness and a softener may become necessary after the neutralizing filter.
Calcite is a naturally-occurring mineral rock consisting of approximately 95% calcium carbonate and 3% magnesium carbonate. It is commonly used in residential and commercial water treatment applications. To neutralize acidic or low pH water to reduce corrosiveness and balance pH prior to iron treatment.
Calcite media can be effectively combined with Clack Corosex to combine the high flow neutralization properties of Corosex, along with the slower reacting low flow properties of Calcite, increasing the ability to correct low pH.
