Vacancy: Receptionist – Live-in
Position
We are seeking a professional
and service-driven Receptionist for a deep rural
reserve environment.
The successful candidate will be
responsible for front office duties, guest check-in and check-out, reservations
administration, guest communication, daily reporting, system duties,
housekeeping and maintenance coordination, basic shop/stock support, and
ensuring a welcoming and efficient guest experience.
Key requirements:
· Strong communication and guest service skills.
· Professional, well-groomed and reliable.
· Good administrative and organisational ability.
· Able to work under pressure and follow procedures.
· Willing to work weekends, Sundays and standby
shifts as required.
· Hospitality/reception experience and reservation
system knowledge will be advantageous.
Salary: R5,894.85 per month (Min Wage)
Accommodation: Live-in accommodation provided, including
water and lights.
This position is best suited to
a candidate who is comfortable living and working in a remote reserve
environment and who takes pride in delivering excellent guest service.

Supervise, train, and performance-manage the maintenance team (handymen, plumbers, electricians, and groundskeepers) Budget & Procurement: Control operating costs, manage capital expenditure (CAPEX), and oversee inventory of tools and spare parts Ensure strict adherence to OHS standards, fire regulations, and environmental safety protocols within a game reserve.Technical SkillsSystems Knowledge: Proficiency with HVAC units, solar (PV) and battery systems, refrigeration, and borehole pumps.Computer Literacy: Capability with MS Office (Word, Excel) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or project tracking tools (e.g., Trello, Asana).Project Management: Ability to coordinate contractors and oversee construction or renovation projects. Soft SkillsProblem Solving: High adaptability and quick, practical decision-making skills to resolve emergency issues (e.g., power outages) rapidly.Guest-Centric Mindset: A proactive approach to ensure routine maintenance causes absolute minimal disruption to the guest experience.Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to report effectively to the General Manager and coordinate with various lodge departments.
