Seniskilled WelderContractor position in JHB - Brakpan- Eastern SuburbsJob Summary:We are seeking a motivated Semiskilled Welder to join our team. The Semiskilled Welder is responsible for carrying out welding, and metal repair work on damages vehicle body components and supporting fabrication activities within the panel beating industry. The incumbent works under the supervision of qualified artisan or senior panel beater to ensure repairs meet quality safety and manufacturer standardsDuties and Responsibilities:Perform basic to intermediate welding repairs on vehicle body panels, chassis components, brackets, and metal assemblies.Assist with the repair and replacement of damaged vehicle body panels and structural components.Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting components prior to welding.Carry out MIG, spot welding, and other approved welding processes in accordance with workshop procedures.Assist with the fabrication of replacement metal parts where required.Ensure welds meet quality standards and are free from defects.Grind, smooth, and finish welded areas in preparation for panel beating and painting.Inspect repaired areas for strength, alignment, and finish.Operate welding equipment and workshop tools safely and efficiently.Report faulty equipment or unsafe working conditions to the supervisor.Maintain welding equipment and ensure routine care of tools.Keep the work area clean and organised in line with 5S and housekeeping standards.Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).Support workshop productivity by completing work within agreed turnaround times.Requirements:Grade 12Clean criminal record2 - 3 Years experience as semiskilled Welder within the Panel beating industryGood communication SkillsAvailable immediatelyRate: R70 - R85 Per Hour
