An
exquisite country estate guesthouse in Somerset West, is seeking a dedicated
and experienced Duty Manager to join their team. This is a permanent, in-office
role that requires a 4-day work week from Wednesday to Saturday with
flexibility regarding work start and end times.
The
Duty Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the
guesthouse and will be responsible for various tasks to enhance guest
satisfaction and overall efficiency.
The
Duty Manager will report directly to the Manager and work closely with her and
the owners to deliver exceptional service.
Key
Responsibilities:
•
Host of the Guesthouse: Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests,
ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
•
Check-In/Check-Out: Efficiently handle guest arrivals and departures, providing
information and assistance as required.
•
Sales and Bookings: Manage online and telephonic reservations, upsell services,
and promote the guesthouse to potential guests.
•
Staff Management: Oversee and coordinate staff activities, ensuring proper
scheduling and adherence to guesthouse policies and procedures.
•
Guest Relations: Address guest concerns and requests, striving to exceed their
expectations.
•
Assist with Breakfast: Help with breakfast service, ensuring a pleasant dining
experience for guests.
•
Transport: Own transportation is essential to commute to and from the
guesthouse.
•
Nightsbridge Experience: Experience with Nightsbridge or similar property
management systems is highly advantageous.
Requirements
•
Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle challenging situations
with a positive attitude.
•
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•
A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
•
Valid driver's license and own transportation and must live within close
proximity to the guest house in Somerset West.
•
Experience with Nightsbridge or similar property management systems is a plus.

Clearance stock store managerWe are seeking a highly driven, entrepreneurial, and hands-on individual to establish, manage, and grow a stock clearance retail store. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the physical store, controlling and reconciling stock, building a strong customer and reseller database, driving sales, and actively promoting the business as if it were their own.This role requires a self-starter with strong sales ability, operational discipline, merchandising skills, and relationship-building capabilities. Key ResponsibilitiesStore Setup & OperationsCoordinate and manage the full setup of the physical stock clearance store.Assist with store layout, merchandising, shelving, pricing, signage, and overall presentation.Ensure the store is clean, organized, attractive & customer-friendly at all times.Develop systems for efficient stock flow and stock control.Implement operational procedures for receiving, storing, and dispatching products.Build a database of resellers Sales & Business DevelopmentDrive daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.Promote the store aggressively through direct marketing, networking, WhatsApp groups, social media, and community engagement.Build and maintain a strong database of:Hawkers; Informal traders; Vendors; Resellers; Bulk buyers; On-sellersDevelop long-term relationships with repeat buyers and wholesale customers.Identify opportunities to increase foot traffic and customer retention.Encourage bulk purchasing and repeat sales. Customer Education & Product PromotionEducate customers on available stock, specials, product benefits, and resale opportunities.Assist customers in selecting products suitable for their businesses or resale markets.Keep customers informed of new incoming stock and clearance deals.Maintain strong product knowledge across all categories sold in the store. Stock Control & ReconciliationsTake ownership of all stock entering and leaving the store.Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconciliations.Investigate stock variances and report discrepancies immediately.Ensure accurate pricing, labelling, and stock records.Monitor slow-moving and fast-moving stock.Reduce stock losses, damages Reporting & AdministrationPrepare daily sales and stock reports.Maintain accurate customer databases and communication records.Track customer purchasing trends and reseller activity.Assist management with forecasting stock requirements and sales trends.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Minimum RequirementsPrevious experience in retail, wholesale, stock clearance, FMCG, or informal trade environments.Strong sales and customer relationship skills.Experience with stock control and reconciliations.Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership.Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.Computer literacy (Excel, WhatsApp Business, POS systems advantageous).Email cv's to: crm1@sdkagencies.com
