Job Advert — Qualified & Registered Fire TechnicianLocation: Eastern Cape, South Africa (Port Alfred) — province‑wide travel requiredPosition: Qualified & Registered Fire Technician (SAQCC Fire – Portable Fire Extinguishers)Salary: Market related based on experience. About the roleAn Emergency Solutions based company is expanding its technical team to support government, education and commercial contracts across the Eastern Cape. We seek a technically strong, compliance‑driven Fire Technician to inspect, service, install and certify portable fire extinguishers in line with SANS 1475‑1 and SAQCC Fire requirements. This role is client‑facing, compliance‑critical and may include supervisory and training duties.Key responsibilities• Inspect, service, refill, pressure‑test and repair portable fire extinguishers in accordance with SANS 1475‑1.• Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual inspections and maintain accurate service records, logbooks and compliance certificates.• Install extinguishers and safety signage; ensure equipment meets SAQCC and SABS standards.• Produce client compliance reports and support audits and inspections.• Train and mentor junior technicians when required.• Maintain tools, test equipment and vehicle readiness; travel to client sites across the Eastern Cape.Requirements• Matric (Grade 12).• SAQCC Fire Registration – Portable Fire Extinguishers (None- Negotiable)• SANS 1475 certificate (required). Applications without this certificate will be disqualified.• Relevant fire protection / fire equipment technician certification.• Valid driver’s license.• Hands‑on experience with DCP, CO₂, Water and Foam extinguishers, pressure testing, refilling, repairs and compliance documentation.Desirable• Firefighting qualification.• Occupational Health & Safety certificate.• Fire risk assessment training.• Supervisory or training experience.• Experience servicing institutional or government contracts.Remuneration and benefits• Base salary market related; higher pay for multi‑registered senior technicians.• Performance add‑ons: site service bonuses, commission on new client sign‑ups, travel allowance, tool allowance, annual performance bonus.How to applyEmail the following to: info@iqtex.co.za / Nadine.Baxter-iqtex@outlook.com - with subject “Fire extinguisher Technician" 1.
