The water drops fall into a holding tank (with a UV light), when this tank is full the water is then pumped through the mineral, sediment removal, odour & taste removal filters and a carbon block filter to ensure that 100% pure clean drinking water ends up in the 18 litre storage tank which contains another UV light.How much electricity does it use?The unit's power consumption can be compared with that of approximately 4 light bulbs (around 2Amps)What if there is no humidity?There is always humidity in the air, however the unit will only function if the humidity level is above 35% therefore in such areas as deserts or extremely hot climates where the humidity levels are bellow 35% during the day, the unit will not produce water, however at night time (due to the dew point factor) the unit will produce water.What is the lifespan of the unit?If the unit is taken care of and maintained properly estimated lifespan is 10+ years.What happends when the tanks are full?When the storage and holding tanks are full, the unit goes into a standby mode, where the fans and condensation process is halted and power consumption is minimal, if the cooling function is enabled, the unit will continue to chill the water automatically. If the unit is turned off for a period of time, it can simply be turned back on and a refluxing process will make sure the water is fresh before it will allow you to dispense the water.How often do the filters need to be replaced?The filters typically last over a year, but may need replacing sooner depending on your climate and quality of the air.
