Introduction:
Transport brokerage company based in Durban requires the
services of a Logistics Controller. The successful candidate will be overall
accountable for the Logistic function and ensuring customer expectations are
met.
Duties & Responsibilities:Preparation of all relevant documentation and sending out to the nominated
transporter
-
Liaise with depots, shipping lines, clearing
agents, transporters, etc.
-
Liaise with clearing agent to ensure that Navis
is updated
-
Tracking of vessel and LCL shipments
-
Liaise with transporters to plan collections and
deliveries and obtain regular updates
-
Provide accurate information and updates to
clients regularly and timeously
-
Following up on all deliveries to ensure that it is received on time by
the client
-
Maintaining and updating tracking sheet and sending out daily to clients
-
Ensuring POD’s are signed and received from transporter
-
Filing and record keeping of all documents in a systematic manner
-
To carry out other tasks that may be required by the company from time
to time
Required Qualification & Experience:
-
Matric
-
Diploma in Logistics / Warehouse Management is advantageous
-
Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in same /
similar role
-
Proficient on MS Office
-
Strong understanding of transport regulations and
compliance requirements
Other Requirements:
-
Must be able to work
under pressure
-
Excellent verbal and
written communication skills
-
Excellent
problem-solving skills
-
Must be able to work after
hours (as & when required)
