In this role, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining refrigeration plants and cold storage equipment to ensure optimal efficiency and safety. You will be responsible for routine inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and managing the CMMS system for maintenance documentation and spare parts inventory. Your expertise in refrigeration systems, electrical controls, and cold storage operations will be essential in maintaining operational excellence and compliance with food safety standards. To succeed in this role, you should have a Grade 12, N3 Engineering qualification, a Red Seal trade test (Electrical, Millwright, Fitter and Turner, or Refrigeration), and preferably CAT B8 Ammonia registration. Forklift and tractor operator certificates are advantageous. A minimum of 3 years experience in medium to large production facilities, ideally in refrigeration, is required.

Job PurposeThe Fitter / Boilermaker is responsible for the fabrication,
installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of mechanical equipment,
structures, and components. This role requires strong fitting and boilermaking
skills with proven welding experience to ensure plant equipment and structures
are safe, reliable, and operationally efficient.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform
fitting, fabrication, and boilermaking duties on mechanical equipment,
steel structures, piping, chutes, hoppers, and plant machinery.Carry

Job Requirements:
Matric / NTC 3.
Completed trade test as
Fitter

Conveyors;
Gear boxes; and
Belt and chain drives.
Proven experience as a welder.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Sawmilling experience would be an advantage.
Experience in machine setup.
Medically fit with sober habits.
Code EB license with own transport.
Willing to work irregular hours and perform standby duties.
Regularly working overtime, especially on weekends.
Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read & write).
Ability to communicate in Xhosa will be an added advantage.
