Teh”, the way we locals in Singapore call it. “Bak
Kut Teh” is known as meat bone tea or pork rib tea. However, there is no tea in
the soup. Instead,
oolong tea is often served on the side with the dish to counterbalance the
meatiness and richness of the soup.There are different versions of “Bak Kut Teh”. The
Singaporean version of the soup is made with meaty pork ribs, a lot of white
pepper and garlic. The Malaysia-style “Bak Kut Teh“ tends to be darker with
more herbs in the soup.CATERY
carries the CLAYPOT brand of “Bak Kut Teh” soup broth spice, ideal for making a
darker broth. The fragrance is delightful after the broth is
prepared. The
preparation process is simple, by cooking the pork ribs with hot water (for the
broth) and adding some Asian ingredients such as sliced Chinese dried mushrooms after soaking,
a few cloves of garlic and tofu puffs to the the cooking process with the added
pack of “Bak Kut Teh” soup broth spice. and top the finished soup with sone
coriander. Voila,
you have a wonderful and comforting Asian style
