A collection of Superman films old and new. In 'Superman - The Movie' (1978), a baby from the planet Krypton develops superhuman powers under Earth's yellow sun. As an adult (Christopher Reeve) he dons red cape and pants, and flies across the world doing good deeds, whilst also hiding behind the alias of mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent. Fellow journalist Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) falls for the muscleman in tights without realising he and her bumbling colleague are one and the same. This special-effects laden adaptation of the DC Comics series also features Marlon Brando in a highly-paid cameo and Gene Hackman as evil mastermind criminal Lex Luthor. Director Richard Lester provides a slightly tongue-in-cheek sequel with 'Superman 2' (1980), in which our hero continues to outstrip speeding bullets and leap tall buildings in a single bound, this time while preventing three arch-enemies from space from achieving world domination. In 'Superman 3' (1983), synthetic Kryptonite turns the normally upstanding Superman into a low-grade Supersleaze, clearing the path for a megalomaniac tycoon (Robert Vaughn) and a computer whiz (Richard Pryor) to take over the world. In 'Superman 4: The Quest for Peace' (1987), Superman, moved by a schoolboy's request, determines to rid the world of nuclear weapons. However, his arch enemy Lex Luthor, now a nuclear arms entrepreneur, clones Nuclear Man (Mark Pillow) from a strand of the hero's hair and the two mighty men battle it out in space. Finally, 'Superman Returns' (2006) is a sequel set after the events of 'Superman 2'. After eliminating General Zod and the other Kryptonian arch-villains, Ursa and Non, Superman (Brandon Routh) leaves Earth to search for his former home planet, Krypton. When he arrives he finds nothing but remnants and returns to Earth. Upon his return, he finds a Metropolis that doesn't need him anymore. Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) is engaged to a relative of his boss (James Marsden), and to make matters worse, his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) has contrived a plot to build a continent using the crystals of Krypton that will wipe out most of North America. Superman must again race against time to stop the psychopathic Luthor before it's too late

The JVC DD-5 is a vintage stereo cassette deck that hit the market around 1981, representing an era where JVC was aggressively pushing the boundaries of tape technology. Often seen as the more accessible sibling to the legendary DD-9, the DD-5 still packs a serious punch with professional-grade features packed into a sleek, "silver era" chassis. The Drive System: Precision MovementAt the heart of the DD-5 is JVC's Pulse Servo Direct-Drive motor. Unlike traditional belt-driven decks that can suffer from speed drift as belts age or stretch, the direct-drive system couples the motor directly to the capstan. This results in incredibly low wow and flutter (rated as low as 0.021% WRMS), providing a stable, pitch-perfect playback experience that mimics high-end open-reel performance. The Secret Sauce: Super ANRSThe standout feature is undoubtedly Super ANRS (Automatic Noise Reduction System). While the industry eventually standardized on Dolby, JVC developed ANRS as a sophisticated alternative. Standard ANRS: Functionally compatible with Dolby B, reducing tape hiss by roughly 10dB at higher frequencies. Super ANRS: This goes beyond simple hiss reduction. It acts as a high-frequency compression/expansion system that prevents tape saturation during loud, high-frequency peaks (like crashing cymbals). By "compressing" these peaks during recording and "expanding" them during playback, it allows for a much higher recording level without distortion, significantly improving the dynamic range of the tape.Audio ArchitectureSA (Sen-Alloy) Heads: The deck uses JVC’s proprietary Sen-Alloy heads. These offer the best of both worlds: the high magnetic permeability of permalloy and the incredible wear resistance of ferrite. This makes them ideal for the high-friction environment of Metal (Type IV) tapes. Two-Motor Logic Control: The transport is fully electronic ("Full Logic"), meaning you can switch from fast-forward to play without hitting stop, and the deck will handle the tape tension safely without snapping it. Weight 6 kgBeogram 1000 was the very first Bang & Olufsen turntable to be designated with the suffix ‘Beogram’. Before its introduction, earlier decks did not, strictly speaking, hold this product name. This player has extremely low vibration and rumble – a decisive feature for playback of stereo gramophone records, due to the fact that the stylus must be sensitive to vibrations in all directions. The Beogram 1000 has antimicrophonic suspension that takes up acoustic and mechanical vibrations from the support and prevents the stylus from leaving the groove. In practice, this means that mechanical vibrations from the support or from persons walking or dancing in front of the Beogram 1000 cannot make the stylus jump in the groove. Such vibrations will be absorbed in the antimicrophonic suspension and will not reach the turntable or the pickup.Equipped with the world-famous B&O ST/L-15 pickup unit; heavy turntable designed as a stroboscope disc; built-in hydraulically damped pickup lift operating by means of a rocker button. Specially engineered speed selector (78, 45 and 33.3 rpm); built-in special centre insert for 45 rpm records. A Leica Tele-Elmarit 90mm F2.8 lens for Leica M cameras, both film and digital. Boxed. This lens dates from 1980 and is still in excellent + condition. But as for all older lenses of this age, a very slight internal haze is visible if a strong light is shone through it from a very close distance. Some hairline cleaning scratches are also visible but no fungus or any other obvious damage: focus is smooth and aperture sets correctly. The makers rear cap, front cap and rubber shade are all included. Price: R7400 Call Martin at 082 944-0553 Please click on my profile to see my other camera adverts.
