The original pipes are very restrictive, limiting the amount of airflow. Further-more these flattened pipes are usually made by fusing two plastic halves together, a process which often leaves the pipes uneven, or with melted plastic residue protruding from the seams.There is plenty of clearance between the block and the chassis for a larger round pipe. The pipes included in this kit are larger, but not so large as to cause ECU errors. The gentle bends make for smooth air flow throughout the system.
