The year is going fast because it's school holidays already

At the end of March, schools across the country will be breaking up for a few weeks and bringing to an end the first term. Pupils will be able to relax for a bit due to rush of getting homework and projects done in time, while studying for tests.

Of course, teachers won't make the entire holiday plain sailing and could possibly give the students a project (or two) to keep them busy before the actual fun can get underway.

Because the kids will be home, parents will most likely take a couple of days off from work to spend some time with them. Places like the mall and outdoor attractions will surely be fuller than usual.

While most older kids will keep themselves occupied for most of the holidays by watching TV or playing video games, the younger ones will often need an extra set of eyes on them because boredom usually equals naughtiness – most of the time.

Gumtree has put together a list of activities that you can enjoy with your kids:

Create pebble art: Take your kids for a walk outside and collect little rocks and pebbles. Paint and decorate these and give them to friends and family when they come to visit.

A walk in the park: While the sun is still shining, take the kids (and the dog) out for the day to the park. Pack in snacks or treats and end the day off with some ice cream.

Watch a movie: There are a bunch of new movies releasing in March. Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and  Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will all be showing during March.

What they want to do: At the end of the day, kids just want to do what they want and if that includes sleeping, playing with Lego bricks or playing outside, then that is what will be done.
