Job Position: Dodgeball South Africa - Event Staff (JHB)

Start date: Immediate

Location: Varies Areas across Gauteng

Reports to: Nicholas Oebell - Dodgeball South Africa Founder

Employment Status: Part-Time referee and event staff

Hours: Varies, mostly weekend, but sometimes in the week

Remuneration: R100 - R120 / hr of actual event + Setup/Break = R150

Transport: Applicants MUST have their own transport (vehicle)

General Position Description:

As a Dodgeball Event Coordinator and Referee, you will be the linchpin for engaging with, facilitating, and officiating dodgeball events throughout the region. We seek an outgoing, reliable, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for sport and community engagement, capable of energizing participants and ensuring events run smoothly. Your ability to manage logistics, enforce rules, and resolve disputes impartially and effectively will guarantee enjoyable and fair competitions for all participants. Prior experience in event coordination or sports officiating is a plus, but not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize, schedule, and manage dodgeball events

• Officiate games ensuring adherence to rules and fair play

• Engage with participants, sponsors, and stakeholders positively

• Manage and resolve any disputes or challenges effectively

• Ensure participant safety and enjoyment throughout events

Knowledge & Skills Required:

▪ Excellent use of the English language, both written and spoken.

▪ Excellent interpersonal communication skills

▪ Prior coaching experience within another sport is preferred (no dodgeball experience required) ▪ Experience in coaching young individuals as a group and individually
