Port ElizabethNational Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics / Electronic EngineeringMinimum 4 years' maintenance experience within a highly automated manufacturing environmentHigh level of competence on robots (manipulate and program)Solid knowledge of programming logic controllers, robotics/control and automation equipmentAbility to setup and configure drives and change parameters on variable speed drives)Knowledge of networksAble to work overtime and rotating shifts as required, including week-endsIdeally residing in the Eastern Cape (technical assessments will be conducted on-site for short-listed applications)South African Citizen RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyse programmable logic controller programs for the purpose of modification, designing, fault finding and error proofing on machines and equipmentCorrect various program logic, electronic and electrical type of faults on machines in order to support safety, quality and productionPlan and develop PLC installations for replacement or modifying of current equipment in the PlantProgram drives, to optimise reliability and efficiencyBackup programs on all Robots and PLC applications in plant and load onto Plant server systemUpdate all the relevant documentation for any software and hardware changes made on plant equipmentCheck and compile information on systems, validate safety requirements drawings and computer programsDo program changes on PLC’s and program robots as requested from ME, process and productionAssess breakdown root cause and develop countermeasures to prevent reoccurrenceAssist and support artisans in fault finding and breakdownsEstablish and maintain electronic maintenance schedules for equipment within the area of responsibilityEstablish and maintain a stock of electronic spare parts required to ensure continuous availability of machineryAssist and support Contractors with new installations and do validation and as building after completion of projectsDevelop efficiency improvement initiatives by effective utilization of utilities, materials and resourcesRead and understand technical manuals for equipment operations and maintenancesProject manage contractor software development and equipment installationUnderstand resistance welding process and set up
