CTS 17297 - Draughtsman (Shopfitting) – East Rand

Your responsibilities will be the following:

• Creating comprehensive 2D and 3D technical drawings and models for joinery, metal components, and shelving using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Generating specialized files, such as machine-ready DXFs and IGES files for CNC cutting, laser cutting, bending, and welding
• Adding technical details, including dimensions, materials, finishes, and assembly instructions, ensuring the designs are practical and easy to assemble and install.
• Liaising closely with internal teams, including sales, design, production staff, project managers, and external clients, to clarify design details, incorporate feedback, and ensure a smooth workflow from design to manufacture.
• Verifying that all drawings and designs comply with customer specifications, company standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
• Preparing material lists (Bills of Materials), managing drawing registers, implementing revision control, and maintaining an organized drawing library to keep documentation accurate and current.
• Identifying and resolving potential design or fabrication issues before production begins
