My name is Grace, a matured lady who trained as Carer Nurse aid with Red Cross.

I did my practicals at a major hospital where i worked for more than 3 years with patients who had different conditions and complications. These include

●Dementia patients and those who had Alzheimer

●Disabled patients and injured

●Patients recovering from operation

●Patients with diabetes and chronic comorbidity.

My everyday duties include

●Bed bath and bed changing

●Changing patients nappies and assisting other to the bathroom

● Dressing wounds and treating sores

●Monotoring and helping patients to take medication on time.

● Sending of corpse to Mortuary.

From June 2019 to June 2020 i worked for a family , i provided passionate care to their mother with mild Dementia and stroke.

I helped her to manage the condition very well and conducted various duties which include,

●Assisting with all bathroom activities

●Giving medication on time

●Social activities like playing cards,storytelling and doing gardening

●Companionship and going out for walks

●Making breakfast.

I was then employed again in Fairtrees Retirement village in Durbanville. I nursed their mother who had Alzheimer and i performed various duties which include,

●Giving medication on time

●Bed changing

●keeping doctors appointments

● Checking vitals and monitoring oxygen machine.

I was employed again in Othello retirement village in Brankenfell for an elderly lady who had injured herself on fall and needed daily assistance in preparing meals. She recovered completely and now manage on her own. Reference is available upon
