Junior Chef Post

Female Junior Commis Chef urgently required for a guesthouse in centution

You will be responsible for reception and admin duties too when the guest house is not too busy.

There are 9 rooms with maximum occupancy at 22 people

As this is a guesthouse with bookings and meals you will sometimes be required to start working at 5am to have breakfast ready for the client's who have booked in, dinner options may also be required upon client request, your working hours will vary.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Measuring meal ingredients accurately.

Prepare meals, plating and presenting food items as per instruction.

Receiving deliveries and making sure that all ordered items are of excellent quality and are delivered on time.

Preparing basic sauces and salads as directed.

Performing basic cleaning duties and sanitising all work stations properly.

Taking inventory of supplies and informing the owner of depleted or low supplies.

Disposing of all spoiled or expired food items stored in the freezers, refrigerators and stock rooms

Preparing meal ingredients, including seasoning of different meats, as well as chopping, peeling and washing, fruits and vegetables

You must have strong communication skills and be computer literate

Must be able to mutlitask as you will assist in handling the bookings, telephone , check in's and check out' s including the kitchen

Requirements:

A chef diploma or equivalent culinary qualification is required

Atleast 1 year experience in the industry
