METAL TURNING LATHE

This refurbished lathe is a near 100% copy of the famous Myford but Taiwanese made. It is the long bed version, on raising blocks, with hardened and ground ways. The Norton type gearbox is fitted and general operation is essentially as one would a Myford.

Eight headstock speeds are available, 4 direct and 4 via the backgear. Speed changing and stopping the chuck are achieved by means of a quick belt tension relief system. The headstock is fitted with roller bearings instead of the Myford bush/bearing combo. The bearings can be greased as required.

The lathe is fitted with a 230V 0,37kW motor, continuous operation. The motor is fed via an on/off and reversing switch setup.

The steel stand is exceptionally solid and offers ample storage space.

A three jaw chuck, with both sets of jaws and key, are included. The backplate must be machined in position to match the chuck. A thread pitch dial, dead centre, live centre and tailstock chuck are also included. A number of quality, mostly German, drill bits cutting tools and live centre are also included.
