Vintage Antique Tribal Art Carved Granary Door Handcarved more than likely by the Punu People of Gabon. PUNU Style Panel/Granary Door, Gabon. Rope attached. Pole attached w/ rattan. Dimensions &weight approx. 90 cm H incl pole 67 cm H 47 cm L 8 cm W incl pole 5 cm W 3 kg heavy Punu wood doors were carved in relief with a female with splayed arms and legs, often flanked by masks. The faces and body were either black or covered with white pigment. This interesting carving will make a wonderful addition to your collection of African, Central African, Grasslands or Ethnographic art. We believe this Granary Door is from Gabon, most likely Punu. It is really nicely carved with typical scarification on the belly and forehead. It is painted with white & black/brown earth based paint. Ready to be hung.
