2008 BMW R1200GS

The bike is in good condition. Used daily as a commuter, and still in use.

Reason for sale: Consolidating. Want to get one bike for commuting and adventure. Possibly going to also trade my 2025 CRF300 Rally for a Himalayan to do both.

Location: Mnandi (near Centurion)
Extra's:
- Headlight guard
- BMW Panier system and top box with matching BMW key
- Rockfox wide foot pegs
- Crash bars and tappet covers.
- Garmen Zumo 500 cradle and GPS (note, the GPS has no battery)

I purchased the bike at 36000km. I don't have a service record since I've been servicing the bike myself from when I got it. It's been solidly reliable in this time and continues to be reliable. In this time, I've done the following (going on memory so km are estimates):
- New diff and gearbox oil @ roughly 55000km
- New alternator belt at about 55000km
- Valve clearances every 12-15000km. Last valve clearance check was about 5000km ago.
- New oil every 6-7000km
- New plugs (all 4) at about 62000km
- Rear shock was rebuilt at about 63000km

Notes:
- Fuel gauge works (common fault on these bikes)
- Heated grips work

Disclosures:
- Not the original windscreen since it was bumped over in the parking lot.
- The bolt holding the poop scoop snapped off in the rear brake cradle assembly. Needs to be removed. I have the poop scoop and the replacement parts (bolt and small bracket) to refit it.
- Small dent on one of the panniers. You can just see it on the front edge in the left hand pic.
- It will need a service in another 2000km.
- Tyres only good for another 5000km max.
- Tyre pressure monitor batteries are dead so TPM indicator on dash.
