– Workshop Foreman
Engineering company, mainly in the automotive industry, are
seeking to fill the vacancy for a workshop foreman. Work consists of mainly
manufacturing in mild steel and stainless steel.
Duties:
-
Plan and manage jobs for the day/week so that it
is completed efficiently.
-
Delegate and assign work to workshop employees.
-
Maintain discipline in the workplace.
-
Timekeeping (or delegating it) efficiently.
-
Ensure that all employees work in a safe manner.
-
Be responsible for the quality each step of the
manufacturing process.
Requirements:
-
Artisan skills. Qualifications and experience
will be an advantage.
-
Able to read drawings.
-
Strong leadership skills. Past experience of
leadership positions essential.
-
Able to work both alone and within a group.
-
Good communication ability, both to management
and employees.
-
Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing
and/or engineering.
Having a driver’s license is not strictly required, but will
be advantageous. General engineering work experience, especially if it involves
Mig and/or Tig welding, will also be an advantage.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the
daily operations of a production line, ensuring garments are manufactured to
the highest quality standards and meet tight deadlines. You will be responsible
for optimizing production efficiency through line balancing and possess a
strong understanding of garment construction processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production workers, fostering
a positive and productive work environment.Ensure production consistently meets or exceeds quality standards
and established output targets.Train and develop new staff on all aspects of production processes
and equipment, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.Analyze production flow and implement effective line balancing

that could disrupt production.Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other
departments to ensure smooth production flow.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clothing production
environment (or similar), with a proven track record of success in a
supervisory role.Formal qualifications in a relevant field, such as National
Certificate in Clothing Manufacturing Processes NQF Level 2, or a related.In-depth understanding of garment construction processes, including
sewing techniques, materials, and quality control procedures.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with
the ability to motivate and inspire a team.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to
identify and address production challenges.A keen eye for detail and a unwavering commitment to quality.Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight
deadlines, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Understanding of line balancing principles and techniques, with a
demonstrated ability to implement them effectively.
