LIQUOR LICENCE APPLICATIONS

A liquor licence is a document that is issued to a person that gives them the legal right to sell or micro-manufacture (make on a small scale: less than 10 000 litres) alcoholic beverages.

The intention of this information is to assist you, the first-time liquor licence applicant to note some factors that might influence his/her decisions when applying for a liquor licence. The intention is NOT to give legal or financial advice. All information is available for the prospective licensee to use at his or her own discretion and risk and LIQUORSENSE does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for losses which the prospective licensee may incur when using this information. This information is by no means comprehensive and must be adjusted to suit individual and specific requirements and different provinces other than the Western and Northern Cape.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A LIQUOR LICENCE

To apply for a permanent liquor licence, you need to complete the following forms:

  • Form 3 [Reg. 9(3)] APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE IN TERMS OF SECTION 36
  • Form 3A [Reg.10(1)] NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR LIQUOR LICENCES IN TERMS OF SECTION 37(1) OF THE WESTERN CAPE LIQUOR ACT, 2008
  • Form 3B [Reg. 10(2)] NOTICE OF LODGEMENT OF APPLICATION FOR LIQUOR LICENCE
  • Form 6
The completed forms need to be typed on standard A4 size paper. Applications must be accompanied by:
  • A certified copy of the applicant's ID
  • A comprehensive floor plan of the proposed licensed premises;
  • 'n leesbare, omvattende vloerplan van die voorgenome gelisensieerde perseel op standaard wit papier van hoogstens A3-grootte wat duidelik in kontrasterende kleure die volgende aandui:
  • A site plan of the proposed licensed premises;
  • 'n leesbare terreinplan van die voorgenome gelisensieerde perseel op standaard wit papier van hoogstens A3-grootte wat duidelik die volgende aandui:
  • A description of the premises;
  • Colour photographs.
  • Written representations in support of the application;
  • skriftelike vertoe ter ondersteuning van die aansoek;
  • A zoning certificate, or a copy of a planning application submitted to the municipality concerned.
  • Proof of payment of the application fee (R 1 910.00)
