Head Chef / Chef de Cuisine

Well established upmarket French South African Brasserie-style Restaurant with a Bakery and Deli on site is looking for a competent Head Chef to lead its kitchen team. The right candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all the kitchen operations along with ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards. The Chef will also be responsible for supervising and training kitchen staff, creating menus, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment requirements: • a Culinary Degree is a must • Minimum two years experience in a similar position - International experience is a plus • a Sound knowledge of French food and Classical French cooking techniques • Contactable references a must • Ability to manage inventory and food costs is essential • Passionate about cooking and creating high quality dishes with exceptional presentation • Able to work Weekends and Holidays • Experience with Breakfast menu as well • Own, reliable transport essential Market related remuneration for the right candidate.
