Hotel General Manager
Oversee all aspects of the Hotel operations to secure maximum revenues and guest satisfaction while positioning the Hotel in a recognisable position in the marketplace. This is to be accomplished through training, yield management and the implementation of service standards with constant communication and feedback to the Operation Executives and Proprietor.
Minimum Requirements:
· Matric
· Hotel Management qualification
· 3-5 years’ experience in the same or similar position
· Familiar with the duties of Front Office, Restaurant and Reservations departments
· Good judgement and decision making skills
· Attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure that the hotel is maintained to the highest standards and implement an efficient preventative maintenance program while maximizing room availability.
· Ensure that the Management Team set targets regarding Sales, Gross Profit, Wastage etc.
· Develop standards based on occupancy to control costs to coincide with revenues in accordance with the budget.
· Oversee, control , inventory stock counting and liaise with Head Chef and Restaurant Manager
· Personally greet and interact with as many customers as possible with concept of creating a personalized environment within the Hotel.
· Resolve all guest complaints personally and in absence follow up by telephone or post to ensure guest satisfaction.
· Develop and maintain a culture of top class customer care standards.
· Ensure and maintain a good working relationship with employees and the local community.
· Hold regular communications meetings with all employees and the Management team.
· Develop employees through training and development in consultation with the Human Resources.
