ASSISTANT FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER

 Silver Forest Boutique Hotel – Somerset West

Silver Forest Boutique Hotel, a luxury boutique retreat nestled in the Helderberg, is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will assist in overseeing all Food & Beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction at all times. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Managing day-to-day food and beverage service in the restaurant and bar

• Running the restaurant independently when required, including covering the Food & Beverage Manager’s off days, leave, and public holidays

• Assisting with the planning, organisation, and execution of events, functions, and weddings

• Training, supervising, and motivating food and beverage staff

• Ensuring service standards and hotel procedures are consistently met

• Stock control, ordering, inventory management, and cost control

• Assisting with menu planning and coordination with the kitchen team

• Handling guest feedback and resolving service-related issues professionally

• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations

• Previous experience in a Food & Beverage supervisory or assistant management role

• Proven ability to manage restaurant operations independently

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities

• Knowledge of food, beverages, and service standards

• Experience with stock management and cost control

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

• A hospitality qualification will be an advantage
