MATURED SKILLED CARER WITH EXP IN STROKED BEDRIDDEN PATIENTS, DEMENTIA. SEEK STAY IN/OUT/SHIFT POST

Hi I am Isabel, a well-experienced and skilled carer giver who was trained by Chilton College in Cape Town as an Elderly care giver and went on to do my detailed practical training at Tulbach care facility in Strand. During my voluntary work at the care center, I had the opportunity to nurse patients who had not so similar chronic illnesses and included, dementia/Alzheimer patients, bedridden frail patients, post operated patients and patients who were physically handicapped, patients with arthritis and severe hypertension etc I performed various duties from changing bedding in the morning, doing full wash on resident patients, changing nappies, use of bedpan and assisting other patients to the bathrooms, checking vitals like sugar, BP and temperature, assisting nurses to give out medication etc From January 2017 to August 2021, I worked for a private patient in Kempton Park as their full time stay in carer. I looked after their 80-year-old father who had stroked and was bed ridden and used a wheelchair for all mobility and was diabetic. I performed all essential duties from Bed changing in the morning. Continence activities and bedpan Performing full wash on my patient including all grooming needs Giving my patient medication in the morning according to doc instructions Pressure management to lesson bed sores and dressing of any wounds Checking all vitals daily like blood sugar, temperature, pulse and blood pressure. Making healthy meals and feeding the patient Making all bed to wheelchair transfers to go for walks or doctor visitations. I was then employed in January 2022 to December 2022 in Midrand as private care giver for another family working a stay in position as well. I provided very passionate care for their 77-year-old mother who had a chronic heart illness and was bedridden - needing specialized daily care and she used peg feeding. I basically performed various activities, from bed changing, bathing her, changing continence, cleaning her room, giving her medication on time and proving all companionship including being with her on doctor appointments.
