Machine Shop Technician - Vanderbijlpark (Tooling / CNC / Machining)Our client (a blue chip company in the Manufacturing Industry) has a urgent vacancy for a person with the following:Education & experience needed:• Qualified Turner or fitter and turner artisan.• CNC qualification• CAD / MasterCam qualification.• 8-10 year’s Machine shop experience• 5-8 year’s CNC machining experience.• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.• Read and understand route sheet instructions.• Experience in ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001, Occupational Health & Safety.• Understanding of work instructions.• Knowledge of risk evaluations and assessments in machine shop environmentDuties and Responsibilities:CNC Programming• Write CNC programs to achieve the most efficient, best quality products, using MasterCam 2020.• CNC programs include but not limited to Face and Centre, rough and finish turning, grinding and profile turning.• CNC Problem solving.• Revision of CNC programs with every drawing revision.CAD sketches using MasterCam 2020.• Rough turn sketches.• Templates sketches• Concession sketches etc.• Taper gauge sketches.• Jigs sketches• Templates sketchesTooling• Best suited tools to be selected for optimal machining performance and available when needed.• Ensure tooling availability at the best possible compatible prices.• Ensure tooling in shop are up to standard and available.• Monthly tooling stock take.• Mentor operators on tooling.• Tooling problem solving.• Attend tooling expos to be familiarized with the latest tooling technology.Machine Shop new order risk evaluation.Machine capabilities.Tooling needed and ensure availability on time.Overspending investigations.Tooling for dedicated CNC Programs.Templates availability.Refurbishing of current tooling.NCR’sAttend morning NCR/CAR meetings.Assist with root cause analysisAssist with corrective actions.House Keeping / SafetyDo weekly machine shop inspection and keep checklists.Play an active role in safety awareness.Skills:To establish and maintain and effective working relationship with other departments.Self-confidents and communicating skills.Team PlayerEnergeticOur client offers a Market related salary according to qualifications and experience.Medical aidPension /Provident fund.Overtime if needed.Shift allowance if worked.
