Head of Purchasing

Our client one of the leading automotive suppliers worldwide is seeking a HOD: Purchasing to perform the following:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibility for entire purchasing process of production and non-production material (PM / NPM) i.e., local production materials, merchandize goods, NPM goods up to 100.000€ and investments up to 100.000€ according to standards
Selection of suppliers and documentation of sourcing decision to ensure compliant processes
Negotiation and contracting with suppliers e.g., prices, Incoterms and payment terms as well as issuing purchase order
Supplier development, release, and support in supplier auditing (including controlling and evaluation of supplier measures)
Determination of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements in the country of receipt, the country of shipment and the customer-identified country of destination and ensuring of fulfilment
Interface and local support to BU, BA or group purchasing processes and teams (e.g., reporting of savings, payment terms, material price development, reporting of raw material forecast, etc.)
Implement internal PUR standards (e.g., processes, methods, tools, KPIs etc.) and provide feedback and input for further development of standards
Initiation and implementation of continuous improvement by applying CBS methods and training measures
Implementing procedures on new raw materials as required.
BBBEE:
Ensure supplier compliance to BEE level requirements.
Implement BEE supplier development strategies to achieve company BEE goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant Bachelor''s Degree
2 - 4 years in specific job field
Experience leading small projects with the automotive sector is essential
2-4 years leadership experience, basic leadership training, LDP 2; Leading People
Experience participating in international projects
2 - 4 years in cross function
