Chassis Engineer

REQUIREMENTS
BSc / BTech Mechanical Engineering
3 - 5 years technical experience in the automotive industry
Existing knowledge of modern chassis vehicle components and systems would be advantageous
Sound knowledge of supplier base (manufacturing processes)
Knowledge of project management principles
MS Office computer literacy
Code B Driver''s license
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Responsibility for the design, development and release of chassis components, including Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) requirements
Resolution of design-related problems on manufactured platforms (ability to problem solve complex components)
Supporting local, SSA and European supplier base with manufacturing and process improvement recommendations, thereby ensuring integrity of parts supplied
Project management of components under scope of responsibility, ensuring that chassis components are timeously introduced into production within the specified time and cost parameters
Preparing technical feasibility studies, cost analysis of components, systems and projects
Creating and tracking development timing plans
Evaluation and implementation of the Group design changes
Maintenance of Technical Data Systems for chassis components
Assist with line and quality problems, special investigations etc.
Evaluation and implementation of product cost optimization
