Process Automation Technologist - Plastic Manufact

Minimum requirements for the role:
A BTech degree in Process Instrumentation or relevant degree and/or an Instrumentation Artisan Trade is essential for this role.
Previous experience having worked in a similar role working with process automation equipment, hardware, networks as well as control systems knowledge and experience is essential.
Previous experience working with industrial networks as well as with the standards and compliance of IEC61131-3 is essential.
Must have experience working within an information and communications technology company preferably in the chemical manufacturing or related industry.
Exposure to digital systems and digital logic design would be preferred.
Project and database management skills are advantageous.
Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages as well as Coding C/C++ or similar skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Configuring new loops on the control system, HMI and historian.
General upkeeping and housekeeping of control code, process control documentation and drawings and maintaining operator stations and alarm optimisation.
Recommending and participating in implementing improvements to the process control systems.
Participating in process control standards compliance and safety audits.
Ensuring appropriate reviews are completed on assigned work per the management of change (MOC) work process.
Optimally utilising technology to improve production efficiency.
Maintaining Aspen IP21 software and ensuring maximised uptime.
Upon request, adding tags to the historian database as per the standard provided.
