Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing) - RandburgPiping / Plastics ManufacturingA global leader in the manufacturing of conduit piping for underground applications requires the technical skills of an experience Maintenance Technician to join their manufacturing plant in Kya Sands, Randburg (Shifts / overtime)Duties:Attending to all breakdowns during or outside of normal working hoursEnsure adherence to the OHSACT and company policies and proceduresHands on practical approachInspect all machinery, equipment and buildings of the facilityMaintaining a record of all the maintenance work that has been conducted on the machineryMaximise machine efficienciesMust be a self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.Overseeing tool changes, ensuring all tooling and equipment is properly maintained and available prior to tool changesPerform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on machinery and equipmentReduce machine breakdown timesRefurbishment of machineryRequired to work overtime as and when requiredRequired to work weekly standbyStrong mechanical and electrical problem solving skills.Strong understanding of control systems and machine operation with hands-on experience.To ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe conditionComplete any other duty or tasks assigned by Plant Manager. Qualifications,:Willing to do extra in order to meet goals i.e. going the extra mileQualified Maintenance Electrician and/or Maintenance Millwright with minimum 10 years practical experience.AC and DC drive experienceBasic PLC and electronic experienceExcellent communication skills, proficient in the English Language Written and Oral - must be able to legibly read and write reports.Knowledge and skill Requirements:Strong organizational and time management skillsStrong knowledge in operating maintenance tools and equipmentPunctuality - having an excellent attendance track recordIn procession of a valid driver's licence - LDVA good knowledge of maintenance planning methodologies and the control thereofProblem solving; identifying and solving all technically related problemsExperience in the ordering of spare parts, interaction with suppliersTeam member -ability to encourage or influence others to work together within the groupFlexibilityConceptual/ analytical thinkingAttention to detailR110.00 to R120.00 per hour (with night time, overtime and shift allowances applicable)
