Electrical Engineer: Product Development

Global manufacturer of products used in the rail and power distribution sectors seeks to employ an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage and provide direction in the development and manufacturing of products. Based in PietermaritzburgFor the position you would be required to have:B.Sc/ B.Eng in Electrical Engineering preferredAround 8 years of product development engineering and manufacturing experienceAround 4 years’ experience managing technical teamsExperience in electrical power transmission and distribution would be a definite advantageResponsibilities would include you to:Cost and time management of all product development-related projects, including prototype designs, technical qualification and testingManufacturing process design and implementation throughout the factoryContinuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes.Assist the Quality department in the reduction of production waste throughout the factoryProvide guidance to the receipt inspection team on all related incoming materials to be used on manufactured productsAssist with guidelines during the supplier qualification and audit processes.Assist in the compilation of tenders and other customer enquiries by completing all technical submissionsAddress and close-out of all technical, product-related customer complaints.
