WAS/Cloud Systems Engineer

(A WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for working in a Unix/Windows software environment. The responsibility of the individual is to manage the instances of WAS in the private and public cloud infrastructure services. The professional also leads, oversees and maintains, multiuser WAS environment as per the requirements of the organization. The WAS cloud systems administrator will have to develop, configure, implement, and manage the systems that comprise various applications stacks.)()   Provide technical expertise in the WAS areas for both private and public cloud on AWS and Azure: - Developing and deploying automation technologies including monitoring, configuration management and deployment solutions as they pertain to WAS.  - Demonstrate a track record writing scripts and code to resolve issues and to increase levels of automation. Experience with Automation tools such as Ansible or Chef. - Experience with DevOps tools. - Ensure that all the relevant technical specifications and operational procedures are up to date and work with domain vendor to ensure that all domain parameters are up to specification. - Perform and monitor day to day scheduled and ad hoc (as per task requests) activities on the associated IT infrastructure. - Perform deployment work for projects on demand and in accordance with project schedules and supporting iteration plans. - Resolve incidents and problems and escalate to 3rd party support suppliers where required.  Coordinate support provision with these respective suppliers. - Ensure service restoration satisfies service level agreements. - Submit reports on outages as required and ensure that remedial and preventative actions are implemented. - Support Operational Controls processes (Audits, Risk and DR& BCM governance, business processes improvements, performance management, and finance and business management), supply requested information and implement corrective actions as applicable. - Research advancements in the technologies at hand to ensure appropriate application as well as knowledge in SBSA to exploit new functionality and features.   Execution of IT Domain Strategy: - Work with technology owners and platform architects to define the appropriate domain strategy to enable the overall Group IT strategy.   - Identify areas of critical operational need and risk priority. Identify strategic initiatives and map out execution plans that satisfy the objectives of the domain strategy. Be able to communicate the strategy and supporting initiatives to stakeholders. - Lead transformation consulting engagements to support the roadmap for the domain area and assist in developing next generation platforms including capabilities. - Recommend assessments to gain insights into the domain’s current and future states which will be used as input into technology roadmaps and business case for change. - Analyse emerging technology trends, risk mitigati
