Solutions Architect: Network and SecurityJohannesburg | Salary R65k to R95k per monthRole Summary:Responsible for designing computer networks and the security architecture, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, perimeter and endpoint protection as well as other data communications systems. Creates, tests, and evaluates networks and security solutions and architecture.Must have experience with cyber security, managing firewalls and identifying possible risks and establish preventative measures to ensure information, systems and environments are safe, monitored and effective.Primary responsibilities:Analyse business requirements to develop technical network/security solutions and their frameworkDesign, test, and inspect infrastructure architecture solutionsPerform infrastructure modelling, analysis, and planningInstall hardware such as cables, hubs, routers, and wireless adaptorsSet-up and configure the infrastructure architectureDevelop technology roadmapsConfigure network drivers for softwareAnalyse, engineer, and execute software functionsDevelop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projectsStay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitorsDetermine production directionWrite requirements/specifications documentsAssess vendor development/test strategiesPerform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problemsUpgrade network hardware and software components as requiredSolve complex problems with many variablesReviewing current system security measures and recommending and implementing enhancementsConducting regular system tests and ensuring continuous monitoring of network securityDeveloping project timelines for ongoing system upgradesEnsuring all personnel have access to the IT system limited by need and roleEstablishing disaster recovery procedures and conducting breach of security drillsPromptly responding to all security incidents and providing thorough post-event analysesExperience in managing a team of network engineersResponsible for their deliverables, KPI’s, appraisals, and HR processesExperience and Qualifications:5 + years in similar / same role (8+ years industry experience)Information Technology qualifications with a specialisation in Networks / SecurityCCNA / CCNP / CCDE / CCIEExtensive experience in Firewalls (Fortigate / Fortinet Experience)CyberOpsNSE4, 5 and 7
